Elon Musk’s Bid to Buy Twitter; Plus AI & The Future

Ahead on today’s Headline News: Twitter has triggered the poison pill option to Elon Musk’s massive offer to buy 100% of Twitter and make it a free speech platform. This could open Twitter up to lawsuits from shareholders as it could be proven that Twitter is not operating in the best interests of it’s shareholders. “I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy,” Musk said in the filing. “I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form.” Later on Thursday, during an onstage interview at the TED 2022 conference, he went even broader: “Having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization.” In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis signs a bill banning abortions after 15 weeks, a huge win in the right to life movement. Then Dr. Fauci says lockdowns are used to insure people get jabbed, and Biden’s polling numbers just keep plummeting. All of that and much more!
