“Chicken Coop Makeover Day” This weekend Sept 21, 2024 Resistance Chicks had about 30 people over for a class on Butchering Chickens. We bought 50 about 8 weeks ago as chicks. There is special meat bird food to buy to raise them quickly. 48 were slaughtered, there were 3 left over. The brooder always send extra just in case one dies. Tomorrow the 3 who had great hiding places, will be dispatched to heaven. But it is a very dirty process; 50 meat birds plus raising 14 babies chicks plus having 15 of our own.
