What does the Bible say happened to the Old Testament saints? How did they get to Heaven? They had to be judged somehow between sheep and goat, wicked and righteous… so are there scriptures that point to the resurrection of these dead saints and wicked sinners? Actually it does, and there are more scriptures than you would imagine that paint a beautiful tapestry of God’s Divine grace and wisdom of the Old Covenant! This contrasts the old way to gain entrance into Heaven with a New and Better Covenant. Join us for what is sure to be an eye opening and encouraging Revelation Red Pill you will not want to miss!

Notes and Scriptures from Tonight’s Show

8 Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2 and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.

3 Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4 If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5 They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”[a] 6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8 But God found fault with the people and said[b]:

“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.

It will not be like the covenant
    I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.

10

This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

11

No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.

12

For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”[c]

13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

The Gospel needed to be preached to that generation of time before the Judgement would take place
Colossians 1:5-6:

  • .
  • Paul wrote that the gospel was spreading and bearing fruit “in the whole world” and “among you”.
  • Colossians 1:23:
  • .
  • He also stated that the gospel had been “preached to every creature under heaven”.
  • Romans 1:8:
  • .
  • The faith of the Roman Christians was being “proclaimed in all the world”.
  • Romans 10:18:
  • .
  • Paul referenced the idea that the gospel’s “sound went out into all the earth, even to the ends of the world”.

What the Bibles Say About Happened to the Old Testament Saints Will Blow your Mind!

Resurrection – where are the bodies?

  1. What scriptures prophesy going to Heaven and hell for those before Jesus- that had to be part of OT prophesy. God does nothing without telling his prophets
  2. New Testament theology is OT

fulfillment all the “new things” were prophesied ahead of time

2 Peter 3:10–13 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

John 5:25-29 and shall come forth some to the resurrection of the just and unjust

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life… Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.”

Wicked and perverse generation looks for a sign

Matthew 24- “This generation shall not pass”

Judgement must begin at the house of God

John 11:7 I am the resurrection and the life

“He who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” Jesus said this Martha after her brother Lazarus had physically died. She was a real woman who had a real conscience and a real life experience. Lazarus was physically dead; therefore we must take this into consideration as we try to make sense of Jesus’ subsequent words:

John 11:23-26 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. (24) Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. (25) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: (26) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

The Jews obviously believed in a resurrection of the dead. Martha did too. But Jesus tells her that He is the resurrection and the life. However, He doesn’t stop there. He begins to both qualify and quantify this life. “He that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” At this point we might still infer from His words that He is referring to physical life, but His next words contradict that idea: “Whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” Let’s paraphrase His words to elucidate His view of resurrection: “I am the spiritual resurrection and life. Your brother has died physically, but He will rise with a ‘better resurrection’ (Hebrews 11:35). He who believes in Me, though he were physically dead like Lazarus yet he shall spiritually live in Me. And he who is presently physically living shall never die spiritually.”Some try to convolute this text by inferring that Christ was speaking of two resurrections. But His statement that He is the resurrection and the life prohibits that concept. Finally, He is obviously not stating that he who lives and believes in Christ will not physically die. If this were His meaning, then we would have to conclude that no one is truly a believer in Him, for all of us still physically die; or we would have to conclude that He was mistaken or was lying, neither of which is an option within the parameters of evangelical Christianity.

Revelation 20:4-6

  • Text: “Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God… They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years… This is the first resurrection.”

The Judgment of the Dead

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

Luke 1:32–33

“He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end

Revelation 20

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

It seems that there has to be some scriptures that explain where the old Heaven went- aka paradise and hell- Sheol where the unrighteous went- cast into the fire where the beast- Rome, the last kingdom before Christ and false prophet went along with all the unrighteous dead

Now when you die you go to Heaven- new New Heave or the lake of fire

Ch 21

New Jerusalem- (it’s here)

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Rev 22 – I come quickly!

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Bad things still happen outside the city

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely

Spirit and Bride say COME

IT’S HERE

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

22But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to a place where thousands of angels have gathered to celebrate. 23You have come to the meeting of God’s firstborn children. Their names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all people. And you have come to the spirits of good people who have been made perfect. 24You have come to Jesus—the one who brought the new agreement from God to his people. You have come to the sprinkled blood that tells us about better things than the blood of Abel.

25Be careful and don’t refuse to listen when God speaks. Those people refused to listen to him when he warned them on earth. And they did not escape. Now God is speaking from heaven. So now it will be worse for those who refuse to listen to him. 26When he spoke before, his voice shook the earth. But now he has promised, “Once again I will shake the earth, but I will also shake heaven.” 27The words “once again” clearly show us that everything that was created will be destroyed—that is, the things that can be shaken. And only what cannot be shaken will remain.

28So we should be thankful because we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. And because we are thankful, we should worship God in a way that will please him. We should do this with respect and fear, 29because our God is like a fire that can destroy us.

These people don’t sound like they are I pulled out of Heaven and hell to be relitigated

Sounds again like reader relevance- that generation

It also doesn’t say “those who gave their life to Jesus and were saved”

Book of Life- Judgement

Exodus 32:32–33: During the Golden Calf incident, Moses asks God to forgive the Israelites’ sin, stating, “if not, blot me, I pray Thee, out of Thy book which Thou hast written”. God replies that those who have sinned against him will be blotted out, connecting the book to the concepts of life and judgment.

Psalm 69:29: The psalmist asks God to “let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous”.

Psalm 139:16: The psalmist states that God has known them since birth, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them”.

Isaiah 4:3: The prophet mentions that “he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy—everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem”.

Daniel 12:1: Speaking of a time of great distress, the text says, “at that time your people will be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book”.

problem with this is that modern millennialism interprets in a very literal manner and early writers like Papias, Hermas, Barnabas, and Justin Martyr use quite a bit of Metaphor. Premillennialism believes in literal interpretation, a literal temple will be rebuilt, and a literal thousand years. Here are some statements from Irenaeus:

For he did not venture to blaspheme his Lord openly of himself; as also in the beginning he led man astray through the instrumentality of the serpent, concealing himself as it were from God. Truly has Justin remarked: That before the Lord’s appearance Satan never dared to blaspheme God, inasmuch as he did not yet know his own sentence, because it was contained in parables and allegories; (V.XXVI.2) Whence also he says, that this handiwork is “the temple of God,” thus declaring: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man, therefore, will defile the temple of God, him will God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.” (V.VI.2) For the prophet neither speaks concerning a day which includes the space of twelve hours, nor of a year the length of which is twelve months. For even they themselves acknowledge that the prophets have very often expressed themselves in parables and allegories, and [are] not [to be understood] according to the mere sound of the words. (II.XXI.2)

He is considered a premillennialist by modern scholars. Preteristic thinking started entering by the time of Augustine (354-430 AD)

Many passages I omit, because, though they seem to refer to the last judgment, yet on a closer examination they are found to be ambiguous, or to allude rather to some other event,–whether to that coming of the Saviour which continually occurs in His Church, that is, in His members, in which comes little by little, and piece by piece, since the whole Church is His body, or to the destruction of the earthly Jerusalem. For when He speaks even of this, He often uses language which is applicable to the end of the world and that last and great day of judgment, so that these two events cannot be distinguished unless all the corresponding passages bearing on the subject in the three evangelists, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, are compared with one another,–for some things are put more obscurely by one evangelist and more plainly by another,–so that it becomes apparent what things are meant to be referred to one event.
